Guest guest Posted December 28, 2006 Report Share Posted December 28, 2006 Hey Gail!' Symptoms presented rapidly! I was on MTX for only app. 3 mo. One dosage a week... Felt like death warmed-over couple days after.....within my last week, I SUDDENLY developed shortness-of-breath while resting, no exertion possible .....my O2 sats dropped To 68% andI immediately went on 2 liters O2.....and took myself off MTX....AND fired my RD....A couple weeks later still exhibiting shortness-of-breath but with improved O2 levels, 92-95%, I was examined and x-rayed by a local Pulmonologist... Fibrosis (scarring) was plenty evident on x-ray....he concurred that MTX was the causative factor.....now,a year and a half later, my last chest x-ray shows, thank God, " perfectly clear " lungs! NO MORE MTX for me.... But, Imuran and Pred. Hope this helps! God Bless!
