Guest guest
I get a metal taste that I cannot " wash away " when I take my sleeping pill. It is call imovane. Like the sleep but hate the taste for the whole next day. I must admit it keeps me from taking the pill sometimes. Kath Re: Several Questions - metallic taste. > It's funny but when I look back, this was probably the first symptom my mom had. She had jaw surgery years ago so we kept thinking the metallic taste was caused by the surgery but after many tests, oral surgeons, dentists etc...no one could find a cause for it. It may have been a first hint of what was to come. She also thought she was receiving " radio waves " in her mouth. She stopped eating and lost alot of weight. Her behaviours and thoughts have changed alot since then so eating is no longer a problem. It may be phase that your mom is going through. > > Annette > > raf13 wrote: > Has your LO every complained of a metallic taste in their mouths? It may have been a first hint of what was to come. She also thought she was receiving " radio waves " in her mouth. She stopped eating and lost alot of weight. Food didn't taste good, so she stopped eating much. I believe this may be when LBD started affecting her. She had all kinds of tests trying to find out why she had the bad taste (CT scan of abdomen; scope down the throat). The doctors couldn't find anything wrong with her. One doctor suggested a stroke could have caused the taste, but later a CT scan didn't show any strokes. I just wonder if the LBD has caused the taste. Has anyone heard of a spontaneous remission from LBD? You hear of cancer going away, I just wondered if there has been a documented case of LBD going away. Of course it could have happened in the early stages when the person didn't know that they had LBD. We are going to try to get my Mother's teeth cleaned. She can be really agitated and doesn't sit still very well. Do you have any suggestions on how to make this easier? How about the gas that dentist use? Would this cause an adverse reaction? Thanks in advance, Welcome to LBDcaregivers.
