Guest guest
, My son Tyler developed speech a couple of years ago. He never really had any before then. I feel that he never had a chance because the final blow to his immune system happened when he was 9 months old. Now, at age 9 the floodgates are finally opening. We have been doing the protocol for approx 4 years & I feel that his system is finally calming & normalizing. Another thing I can say absolutely made a difference was the Listening Program. I saw a huge jump in Tyler's language after doing it for a week. We certainly have a long way to go but I feel much more hope for Ty. Guest guest
Hi ! I know your post was addressed to Gayle, but I wanted to chime in because my son will be 4 at the end of October and is also non-verbal. He has been on the protocol for a year and a half. He never spoke either. He said " Grampa " to my father once at Christmas just after his first birthday and he did say Dada for a while (but he also said it when my husband wasn't around, so who knows if he was using it appropriately). Other than that he never had any words. He has always been a babbler and makes lots of noises. The " s " sound is currently his favorite. However, like your daughter, once in a blue moon he too will say a word, never to be heard again! He has said " slide " at the park where my husband and I both heard him clear as a bell, he said " outside " three times while leading me to the door (despite huge positive reinforcement, he never said it again) , he said " shoes " during a Baby Bumblebee video showing shoes and " " (my other son's name) about four or five times while we were out for a walk last summer. It is frustrating to know that these words are in there and not know if he will ever be able to speak. I also sometimes think I hear him saying a word quietly under his breath, but wonder how much of it is wishful thinking. Right now he does not even imitate sounds. I would love it if my son could some day speak to me. Even to hear him say " Mama " for the first time would be a blessing. I'm still waiting for the day when I can write that one down in his baby book. Good luck with your daughter. I hope one day our children will talk our ears off! Rhoda Re: Alternative methods Hi Gayle, I'm so glad to hear of your son's success. One thing really grabbed my attention...You say your son was completely non-verbal. Did he develop speech and then lose it or did he never speak at all before protocol? And at what point in protocol did he begin speaking. I ask this because my 4 1/2 year old daughter is completely non-verbal having never developed speech. She makes many sounds (using specific ones for specific reasons), but has never said a word (although to be honest, once in a blue moon a word seems to get out - Hi, bye, other random words, but we are never sure what we heard b/c they are not repeated). I have found that most children on this list had some speech when they began or had no speech, but had developed speech at some point and lost it. I haven't found any that NEVER spoke. I am seeing progress on the protocol and am hopeful she will one day speak to me. Any details about your son's progress would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, > Hello: > I am a faithful follower of Dr. Goldberg and the protocol for 9 > years and my son has made tremendous progress. Guest guest
Hi Rhoda, Thanks for replying. They sound quite similar. " wishful thinking " is definitely what me and my husband think whenever she seems to utter a word. I don't think there is one person in my family who doesn't think they've heard her say something (clearly and purposefully)at one time or another. But, until she does it consistantly I am always doubtful. Thanks for sharing. Please let me know if he makes any progress - I keep my fingers crossed! > > Hello: > > I am a faithful follower of Dr. Goldberg and the > protocol for 9 > > years and my son has made tremendous progress. Guest guest
Thanks Diane, It's nice to know that I have reason to hope that she will speak. I have been toying with the idea of The Listening Program for awhile. Did you use the home system or did you go through a provider? Did he take to it easily? Thanks for any info. > > > Hello: > > > I am a faithful follower of Dr. Goldberg and the > > protocol for 9 > > > years and my son has made tremendous progress. From what I understand...products for IV use can't be processed the same way as something for IM use. The concern is the potential for exposure to some known, unknown or emerging pathogen. Guest guest
, Are you saying that a lack of magnesium may cause anxiety? If that's what your saying i find it to be very interesting. Something i learned while i was working at the health food store is that we don't get enough magnesium. Calcium and magnesium *must* be balanced. 2 Calcium, 1 magnesium. Without a proper balance we create a toxic body. If we make ourselves toxic there is no telling what kind of disease can come about. It makes me angry when i think about what I'm about to tell you. Scientist decided that we were not getting enough calcium years ago, so they started adding it to our foods. Check the labels when you go to the grocery store. I have even started seeing " extra calcium added " on the label. This just makes me sick because they are adding calcium, but not the magnesium. This is creating what looks like a calcium deficiency, arthritis, osteoporosis, etc. SO, people go to the doc and the doc tells them to take more calcium, *actually making their patient sicker.* WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY ALWAYS DO, MAKE THEIR PATIENT SICKER. They actually have a magnesium deficiency and NOT a calcium deficiency. > > > > Thanks for all the advice again. Applied Kinesiology is great.
