Guest guest
Hydrocortisone diffuses across cell membranes and leads to constriction of the blood vessels, anti-itching, anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative activity. It is intended more as a topical solution in the form of a cream, gel, foam, ointment for proctitis, dermatoses, seborrhea of the scalp, eczema, or other irritations of the skin. According to vessel constricting properties, it is considered a low-potency agent. Prednisone comes in a tablet, oral solution, or syrup form. It decreases inflammation; suppresses the immune response; stimulates bone marrow; and influences protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism. It is not considered a low-potency agent according to vessel constricting properties. The two paragraphs above come from a mixture of an old NDH (Nursing Drug Handbook), and my brain, which is older than the handbook. Fortunately, I still understand it. Hopefully this will be helpful to others. ;-)
