Dear New Members,

just a quick e-mail to say hello to everyone who join the group lately. Due to

the Christmas and New Year holiday, I have been pretty busy and haven't had much

time to read postings or reply to anyone.

A little about myself. I am 28 years old, live in London (UK) and was diagnosed

with Stills in July 2006. the onset of Stills was sometime around March 2006 and

after being sick on and off and ending up in hospital twice (where they checked

me out from top till bottom) I feel I was diagnosed pretty quickly (compared to

some other members on the group.) So I feel pretty lucky!

I was started off on Azathioprine and pred, taking calcium tablets, Aspirine (to

thin my blood) and Lansoparzole (to help my stomach with the pred). Recently I

had another flare and my Rheumy (after putting up the dosage first) decided that

the Azathoiprine was not quiet working for me and switched me over to MTX

(currently on 10 mg per week, but going to 12.5 mg in 4 weeks). I am also trying

to taper down again from 30 mg of pred per day (I was down to 17.5 mg when I had

my last flare).

All in all I am feeling ok and I am able to go to work and do most of the house

work...I guess the thing most worrying for me is the future. As the doctors

themselves are not to sure what to expect with Stills and how bad it will get.

My mom (who is a nurse) is really worried about the high pred dose and it's side

effects and what it will do to me in the long run.

Anyway...enough dribble about me. I just wanted to say hello and welcome.

I am sure you will enjoy the contact with all the people in the group, as they

are all so understanding and know exactly " where you come from " .
