Guest guest
Hi Jan: I think Conan is here now. I'm up at that crazy time of morning too. Actually, I'm pretty much always up - like you!! Hey, when you do finally get here, count me in on the Lemon Drop Sno Cones, martinis - whatever. I need to get hammered and meet you guys!!! Yes, I have seen the shoreline of the Lake frozen. It has been pretty cold here but the city itself is beautiful. Food at the CN Tower restaurant is overrated and expensive!!!! When you get here I say we skip the fancy meals, eat cheaply and spend the rest of our cash on Lemon Drop i mix... Have a good one Jan, Abby
Guest guest
Sounds like a good plan to me Abby! We can eat like Kings for far less then they charge at the CNT restaurant and still afford those drinks! Courage Re: drowning my sorrows: Jan >Hi Jan: > >I think Conan is here now. Guest guest
Jan: I know the song. My kids know it from Barney. Ya know something? Next to the memories of hearing it from my son's mouth when he was young enough to like Barney, the song does make the most sense to me in reference to your Lemon Drop martini mix. Guest guest
For those in a cold climate here's an alternate to lemon drops. We called these snowshoes in Minnapolis when I went to school there. They were a ritual after shoveling, sledding, or snowball fights. Hot chocolate + whipped cream + peppermint schnapps. (in whatever quantities required). Have a good weekend you all! THeresaa & the puppies > > Sounds like a good plan to me Abby! Guest guest
Abby Food at the CN tower overrated and expensive!? You really need to eat in the west end of London if you want to know about overrated and expensive. You don't know how lucky you are. We thought it was surprisingly cheap! That said the most I've ever paid was at a place just down the road from where I live. It was £115 more or less. ($285 Canadian, $216 US. Blimey what's happened to the exchange rate at the moment?!!) But it was sooo good we keep going back. Just not very often though! Re: drowning my sorrows: Jan Hi Jan: I think Conan is here now. I'm up at that crazy time of morning too. Guest guest
I agree that the food at the CN tower is very overrated and expensive...as of 5 years ago. For us it is not too bad since the Canadian dollar is low. The wines were poor and expensive, also. Simmel Re: drowning my sorrows: Jan Hi Jan: I think Conan is here now. Guest guest
Interesting...I guess it's all relative just like anything else. Nevertheless, if Jan were to make it up here and Courage, myself and maybe Josie were to get together, I'd want to eat very cheaply so we could spend the majority of our bucks on some liquid gold or liquid lemon or whatever. I haven't been drunk in so long and I think any of us on this board need to get blotto if only to just laugh ourselves silly. I'd forgotten how expensive London is. Paying $285 for food is ludicrous. Guess I'll just have to come there and marry my Mr. Firth and then pay for all of us to live like Kings and Queens. I'll get right on that!!! Good to hear from you , Abby
Guest guest
Simmel: I agree with your assessment of the CN tower. I remember my parents were really disappointed with the wine menu as well. Not my first choice for dinner. Lots of great restaurants here though for Americans to make the most of their dollar in. Come visit. Lots of us to take you around. Abby
Guest guest
How are those puppies getting along? Are you up most of the night with them or are they able to get along at night without you near? I remember my black lab mix was miserable unless someone was around so we did shifts. I'd adore hugging a puppy right now. Courage Re: drowning my sorrows: Jan >> > >> Now you're talking Courage!!!
