Guest guest
I had problems with my stomache before Still's, but my meds have made it worse. Prednisone, especially affected me. I take high doses of aspirin now, but I divide them up, and try to eat with each time. I have also been taking Prilosec for years and if I miss a day or two, I really notice the difference. When I do miss, I end up having to chew on tums or some other sort of antacid in addition to the Prilosec until the Prilosec has a chance to kick in (usually within a couple of days for me). As you know, Prilosec is over the counter, but I am on county assistance and can't afford the $2/pill cost, so I get them by prescription and my insurance covers it. There are other over the counter meds you can try (they just didn't work anymore for me) like Tagamet, Zantac and Pepcid. Also, now that I'm on aspirin I really have to avoid any food triggers for my stomache (orange juice, tomato sauces, chocolate, caffeine, alcohol). Definitely check with your doctor about your symptoms though and good luck. Keep us posted. Guest guest
Hi Bram, Not on any bone medications (thought I probably should be). how are you doing? Feeling any better physically? Houston
Guest guest
Bram: This is some thing I developed after getting stills. When I was on a lot of meds it was worse then it is now taking almost nothing. I find over the counter things do not work well for me. At the same time I can not afford the prescription stuff ether. What a person to do? Well I try to watch what I eat and then use a lot of Tums before I know I will eat some thing that sets me off. Most of the time it helps but boy the days it dose not I pay for it. This hits me more at night laying down flat so for the last few years the wife and I sleep in a reclining love seat and it helps keep the attacks down some also Good luck and hope you find what will work for you Hugs all Marty the flaring redneck dragon fighter
Guest guest
I think i experienced that... it ended up in a gastritis, iknow it sucks... what you can take is Omeprazol i think that it is an OTC. Maybe Famotidine could help.Good luck and greetings.
