We had the same kind of " invisible " seizures for 2 years. Throw in a few visible

seizures and it was horrible. We did surgery. Feel free to send me a message or

contact me on Facebook for details.

surgery, according to z last EEG there are still un visual seizures, although

there are no visual ones for 4 months now. So it's our decision to still using

meds as long as they seem to help so far or to do surgery and stop there

seizures which is something nobody even z Surgent can guarantee!!! We are

currently don't know what to do or decide!! Any suggestions.

Not sure who you are seeing.  We tried to evaluate our son (3xs) for surgery

(From Boston to Texas) evaluation.  Everytime showed multifocal seizures.

Surgery is not helpful unless most or all seizures come from one area of

brain.  Hopefully if they do remove that area it will not effect function.  In

any case our son was not a surgical candidate, we therefore tried VNS on our son

when he was 4 years old at Boston Children's.  It has been a miracle for us.

Our son now has partial seizures that only last 10-30 seconds a day vs gand

mal seizures that he had every other day for 20+ minutes.  VNS is very easy to

do by a skilled neurosurgeon.  You can always consider surgery even after

getting a VNS implanted.  Food for thought.  Dr. Madsen was our surgeon in

Boston and he does resective surgery to.

Good luck,

My daughter was 14. They removed the entire left hemisphere. 6.5 months ago.

VERY successful - BUT I had one of the top neurosurgeons in the country. She was

back at school full time in 5 weeks and made honor roll.

VNS wasn't an option for us because the issue wasn't outright seizures but

seizure activity. Dr Bingaman at Cleveland Clinic was our surgeon.

I always wanted to ask this but I was si afraid from z answer, does this kind of

Yes. She does better mentally than before the surgery. It was worse right away,

but after about 2 months she improved and is better than before. Honor roll in

high school means that she got very good grades in all of her class.
