Guest guest
No seroquel, same meds for a long time, but then she has had nausea for a long time. The reason I don't think its the meds, she doesn't have the nausea every day. Maybe once or twice a week, sometimes more. Food, well there seems to be no pattern on that. Seems to be an unanswered question. Any suggestions will be helpful. She is seeing the neuroligist tomorrow, (Thur), same one Ruth has seen before for headaches, but he can at least look at the meds and decide if that could be the cause. And someone has ask about meds before, here they are; slow fe - 1 day ( to help with her iron leval) she has had 2 stomach surgeries, one to remove an ulcer and one 2 years later to undo what had been done on the first. Seems when they rerouted the intestines from the first surgery, the hole grew up and everything she was eating was staying in the stomach. So the body does not absorbe the iron like it should. furosemide 20 mg ( same as lazix ) she has been in chf before. 1/daily aricept 10 mg everyone knows what that is far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1/daily Prilosic 20 mg for her stomach problem 1/daily K-dur 20 mg every Mon Wed and Fri (potassium) for whatever she may be losing from the lazix!!!!! Lisinopril 10 mg for high blood pressure 1/daily Reglan 5 mg for her stomach before meals A natural digestive aid before meals!!! Thats all ))))) ))))))) Jayn
Guest guest
I was told that when mom went on Reminyl one of the side effects that the dr. was worried abut was that sometimes it makes them vomit. He said if she is just feeling a little nauseous then that is okay but being physically sick is not. Luckily she never got sick but she has always felt a little nauseous even before meds were added. This was one of her first complaints before we ever knew of LBD. Perhaps it is a " dizzyness " she feels. I would contact your doctor about the vomiting. Guest guest
Jayn, My Mom is on exelon. at the lowest dose she had no problems but when the dose was upped she had the probelms with nausea. The Dr. recommended she eat something fairly high in fat content before/with to offset the nausea. SO she is having ice cream or chocolate for breakfast....... (now don't you start on the chocolate thing) :-) It seems to be keeping the nausea from being bad enough to cause vomiting, I guess it coats the stomach. Guest guest
Jayn, Is your sister taking the iron pills with food? I have to take iron supplements now and again and if I don't take it with food I feel sick and vomit too - I wonder if this is the case here? Guest guest
Jayn, i was just about to answer your original e-mail when i came across this one. I was about to write that her symptoms sound very like they're ulcer orientated. The vomiting could suggest that A) there's another ulcer., there's a blockage.,C) if she's had surgery then sometimes there's problems with the size of the stomach and the amount of food it can now hold, also if another ulcer develops near or on any scar tissue from previous surgery. Sometimes any further surgery to redo what was done in the first place can cause complications even a while down the line. .x Re: my sister No seroquel, same meds for a long time, but then she has had nausea for a long time. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am amazed at the differences of our lo's symptoms, and then on the other hand how they are some that are so much alike!!! Just a funny to relate, or rather it was funny after the fact. My aunt is visiting with us and yesterday we, aunt, sister and I, were talking and all at once my sister took the throw she had on her (always cold) and blew her nose on it!!!! Of course she assured me that nothing had come out, and I wanted to ask, " why did you blow your nose then? " After reading so much about our lo's and their sinus problems I knew the answer. Geeeesh. Any way it almost was as funny as when she mooned everyone in the dr's office.!!! Have a good day, and may God give us each a special blessing today. Guest guest
It is so good that we can still laugh. I think that is the only thing that makes it possible for me to survive this horrible disease of my mothers.
