I am already on hydrocortisone 7.25 mg sustained release. I am also on estradiol; he is testing all hormones though. I t hink .25 mg raise per week might be a bit much also. I may go a little slower than that.

It is interesting to know something about his dosing strategy. I am thinking that a 1/4 grain per week increase may be a little too rapid as you are approaching your optimal dose. Adding T3 too fast can create hyper-like symptoms. Has he prescribed any hydrocortisone for you? Other hormones? sle816@... wrote: I've been on 3.25 gr armour now for 2 days and today have only

had one heart palpitation. It must have been a hypo symptom?? Not sure..anyway, I'll keep you posted. I had blood work done for Dr. Manzanero yesterday and he said I could begin adding 1/4 gr. armour every week until I went hyper...interesting....I take care 'steph

OH YEA, mg. I think it may have to be raised. I started out at 10 mg but it made me really cranky so Dr. O lowered it. he never got around to raising it.. i also felt it was making me gain weight at that dose, but I think I could handle it now.

Are those fairly common side effects/reactions to HC??? I'm not on it yet. Don't we ever get a break and get to take something that makes us feel great? I know, I know, the Armour, but I'm not there yet.

I don't know whether the side effect is common. I have been on the HC for about 3 weeks...no side effects whatsoever. I am pretty sensitive to medicines so was happy not to have a problem.

Wow, I see a lot of new members have joined our group. And welcome to all! I

have a question, Has anyone ever had heart palpitations diagnosed directly

from Stills? I went to my PCP yesterday because I have had this going on for

about 7 days now and actually the other night it woke me out of a dead sleep.

Scared me to pieces!!! Thought I was having a heart attack. They don't hurt

but sometimes I get out of breath. Any way, He did an EKG in the office which

came back normal, And tomorrow I have to go pick up a 24 hour Heart Halter. I

know our med's cause a lot of side effects, but all of the drugs I am taking

I have been on for a good while now. Any Comments?

Thanks,

Carey

Hi and Carey

Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents into the pot here. Let me preface it by

saying that you need to see your doc and follow his/her advice.

Carey, I'm glad that your doc has prescribed a holter monitor for you.

Hopefully they won't find anything, but if they do, I hope it's easily

fixed.

, I thought I'd comment on your " rapid heart rate that was relieved by

drinking lots of water " .... I don't want to diagnose whatever you

experienced, but I will say that certain arrhythmias are exacerbated or

brought on by dehydration and/or caffeine...so avoiding those triggers makes

sense. Glad to know it worked for you and kept them away.

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for all the input. The water thing and dehydration does make a lot of

sense! Well, today when I went to the Docs My Pressure was low....98/54 and

then 2nd time 90/50........Nurse was concerned, the doc came in asked what I

had eaten today. I did eat lunch at that point, not a healthy one (burger

from 's) but I did eat. I am not big on breakfast and never was.Of coarse

they think that both symptoms are related. And actually Fatigue has been a real

issue again for me. And the doc said that fatigue is most likely related to

the low pressure. I am getting so frustrated again. I was administered some

IV fluids and 3 hours later I got a better reading of 100/62 (if I remember

correctly) and he was satisfied with that. My PCP says that it will take about

a week for him to get the results back from the Holter, once I bring it back.

Which I feel is so ridiculous! A WEEK??? Is just crazy for results and you

all know I hate the waiting part. Oh and also I forgot to say that once they

told me that my pressure was too low I did feel my heart start to palpitate.

And I told the nurse. She said it is anxiety. Which I agree. But as for at

home I really am not under any pressure to be stresses and to think that the

palps would be coming from stress. So here I am waiting to see what this thing

shows. , did you take the blood pressure med for low or high pressure?

Thanks for listening and Gail thank you for the warm welcome back! I do miss

chatting with you all. Cammie Welcome to the group. Hugs, to Melt!

Happy Thanksgiving,

Carey

I have had heart palpitations as well. Infact prior ti diagnosis I went to the

hospital thinking it was something serious but all was normal with the heart. I

think it's part of the disease. I still get them sometimes.

Take Care,

Chris

Carey,

I take blood pressure medication for high blood pressure - although

I don't have high blood pressure, it's for the palpitations. My

brother actually takes high blood pressure medication for

palpitations as well (the only thing that's wrong with him - he

passed out last time with his palpitations, he thought he was having

a heart attack and started throwing up. Luckily he was at hte fire

station (he's a fireman) so his buddies took care of him quick).

I'm on a high dose because that's the only way the palpitations

could be controlled. I've been on it for 2 1/2 years. I am thinking

of doing an experiment - with my PCP of course - to go off it and

see if the palps come back.

How long do you have to wear the holster? I really hope they can

give you an answer sooner than later - but mostly I'm glad they are

thoroughly checking it out. Probably a good idea for you to keep a

journal through this so they can see if it is dipping with your food

intake or if it's more random - or related to somethign else. I

kept a journal while we monitored my heart and it made a huge

difference. It's also the time I discovered i have a daily fever at

3:30pm.
