It sounds as if your dad is doing quite well under the

circumstances. I know all too well that sometimes our choices for

our LOs are limited so I can understand why your dad needs to be

right where he is for the moment. Anyway, you all have figured out a

way to have his needs tended by a number of different people. Way to

make the most of support services. Kudos!!

I'm afraid of what will happen once my dad begins his Sinemet but I

know I have to try something since his morbidity has become so

affected lately we can no longer ignore it. If he keeps up at this

rate of decline, I don't see him walking for all that much longer.

The good thing is we're introducing the medicine slowly so we can

detect negative side effects sooner rather than later and hopefully

minimize the nausea and dizziness associated with this medication.

He's been hallucination-free during the day and only has hallucinated

once or twice since he's been on the Aricept. I would hate to

interrupt his cognitive improvement...

I hope you and your have an awesome New Year's. I hope 2004 brings

all of us on this site and our LOs especially some very good luck!!

Abby
