I wish I had something else to suggest to you. Would it help if you carried around a placebo can of bug spray and pretended to spray at them when she complained. I guess that wouldn't help insofar as her food was concerned but it may help in the stairs scenario. You could fill a spray bottle with water and vinegar (a natural cleaning element by the way). I don't know - just a thought. I'm so glad you're getting some time off. Where in the U.S. will you visit? The idea to place your mom in a temporary NH is a good one as well. It'll give you some serenity I hope to know your mom is being tended to by people who are capable of taking care of her. (They may even have some suggestions re: the bug dilemma...)
