Guest guest
As far as I'm concerned, Grouply is a hazard, and I'm with the guy quoted on Snopes.com. Briefly, in order to join Grouply, you have to give them your Yahoo groups userid AND Password. That lets them access all of the groups files, member lists and so on and so forth that are marked " members only " and publish them to the world - which they do. That's a total violation of the group owner's and moderator's right to restrict information to members. It's a violation of Yahoo's Terms of Service as well. They say that a group owner can opt out - by supplying their Yahoo groups ID and password, which gives them access to the information that the owners and moderators have marked private to themselves - such as this group's membership lists. I mean, how stupid do these people think everyone else is? The only solution that works so far is to ban any member that joins Grouply and then invite them to rejoin with a different Yahoo ID and password - and with the understanding that they'll be banned permanently if they give that ID and password to Grouply.
