Guest guest
Hi Josie, I'll have to ask him where in South Beach they were staying as they were all over the south of Florida for about 3 1/2 weeks. Mom is more or less the same but yesterday she got up on her own and even dragged her small table over to the bottom of the stairs and was cleaning it with a kleenex. I was upstairs making her dinner and just about fell over when I saw her walking on her own - she hasn't done this in a long while. Of course, today she couldn't walk on her own at all. What a crazy disease this is! Courage Re: Miami? >Dear Courage: > >Where is South Beach was he? I remember seeing them, but I cannot place >them. I think there are some in Lincoln Mall to keep traffic out, but I am not >sure if that is what you are referring to. How is everything with you and your >family? Hope all is going well. Happy 2004! Guest guest
Dear Courage: My dad did the same thing. After his stroke he could not walk. The physical therapist in the hospital made him walk, holding him up with a belt and he was all slumped forward. I thought he was going to break his nose! I told him to stand up straight and he was able to do it, but he only took 2 steps. The therapist had me follow them with the wheel chair and we had to sit him down immediatelly. He went home and the physical therapist and the woman (she was bad) that was helping stood him up and he started walking without help! Go figure! He had days he could walk and days he could not walk. Maybe the brain makes alternate connections as long as it can among the holes that LBD produces. The brain has a very strong element of self preservation. I hope you can figure out where your nephew was in those pictures, let me know. It is really nice to hear from you, I'll be watching out for that PBS program, and will go to the website to read up on it. Very interesting. Take care, I pray for you and your family. Love, Josie
