Guest guest
I just received our second OAT test results after a 30 day period with Diflucan and switched to another 30+ day period with Nystatin - my son's arabinose levels doubled. Initially, the yeast was just slightly elevated 4 points from the reference range at 51......not that severe of a case; however, now it has doubled to 101. I am sickened as we have cut sugar intake WAY back to almost nothing and have been treating with two different RX's - all to have the yeast range double.......what's going on? I was told he is allowed 2 fruits a day – which he has – and I use Xylitol in my baking. He typically eats one banana muffin for breakfast. No bread whatsoever. He is an EXTREMELY picky eater as it is, so I'm dumbfounded on what to do in terms of diet & treatment. What would the next step be? Do I continue the Nystatin or switch to another anti-fungal remedy? He is GF/CF/SF & very low sugar diet already.
