Guest guest
Hey, gang, I am worried about an appt with my gyno tomorrow. Okay, fellas, I got no beef with any of you reading this, but please be aware, it IS about female problems, lol... I am sure this has nothing to do with Still's, but over the past year it's gotten worse. I am 38 and am basically bleeding most of the month. Plus I have terrible cramps, so bad it puts me down for a couple days with a heating pad. Pain meds don't even help. I am to where I am only having 5-12 days between cycles and I am getting very sick and tired of buying boxes & boxes of tampons! I guess my fear is, I probably need surgery and with the Still's & meds I take, it worries me. I also have Hemochromatosis (Iron Loading Disease) which my Rheumy thinks is causing all my bleeding (my body's natural way of ridding me of the excess iron). However, the pain and inconvenience of it are just too much. If I didn't have to deal with Still's, maybe I'd tolerate it better. So, if I end up having a hysterectomy, my iron will begin loading even more quickly than before. So I feel like I am damned if I do and damned if I don't. The only logic answer I can come up with is, I know that eventually menopause will occur naturally, so I am just putting off the inevitable. I had surgery 3 years ago to remove my right ovary & fallopian tube (I had severe scarring from a previous ruptured ectopic pregnancy). Now, my worst pain is there, in the right side. I am sure it is more scar tissue that developed. Okay, I'm just worried and wanted to talk... surgery scares me with my medical history. I still have a blood clot in my sub-clavian vein, so they always make me stay longer to go through a couple bags of Heparin as a precaution. So, if any of you gals have been through this, I'd appreciate your comments. And I will let you know what the doc says... Hope everyone is having a good weekend..
