Guest guest
Hey Shanon. My son is detoxing right now. We are using a very comprehensive approach going after the gut, viruses (valtrex), and metals (EDTA and NCD). We are seeing changes from day to day in his symptoms of detox. Your son will be unique...but for us we definitely get skin-colored and red rashes in small areas or patches that are itchy when he is detoxing. They come and go through the day and from day to day they are in new spots on his body. But for our son ~ almost always on his thighs and calves. If those rashes come with other side effects that prove the detox to be too extreme, we cut back on the protocols causing the detox...but if we get the rashes and itchies with no discomfort we are happy! Unless you are giving him supps (or high vitamin protocols) that could bring toxicity rashes, I would say the rash *should* be a sign of detox. At least, for my son, it would. Hope that's helpful! ~ Help with rashes, anyone???? I know I am getting to be a pest but I cant seem to get any answers. AFter a bath two nights ago my son broke out in a goosbumpish rash that has actually spread and is itching him. This is our second bout with rash this months, taking monolaurin and diflucan + many other supps- but I feel like I am the only one in this group going through this. I dont know if I should stop something, proceed, etc.The Dr doesnt call me back, my phone consult dissapeared, I looked for a photo of Stans sons rash- couldnt find it. This is a last effort-does anyone know what the rash looked like that Stans son had (I know Stan does not return email) - was it chicken skin looking, no scabs though?? Help!!! Never miss a thing. Guest guest
Oh my goodness, thanks so much for repying. Then I am not alone!!! Another question, then if you wont mind?? EDTA- are you using it as a soak (bath) or something else, AND are you also using epsom salt baths? DO you think I should not do those, when rash is present?--- In mb12 valtrex , Dunsmore wrote: > > Hey Shanon. > > My son is detoxing right now. Guest guest
PS. THIS rash did not respond to Benadryl so I am sure that it is not an allergy. WHat causes this, does anyone know? > > > > Hey Shanon. > > > > My son is detoxing right now. Guest guest
I don’t know if you saw me answer before Shanon but it sounds like molluscum contagiosum. It can last 18months or 2years. Some have found relief with Tea Tree oil (rubbed on). Last year my Dr. saw a ton of cases of it on Children. There were several people who reported their children seemed to get it while on antiviral. My pedi missed it but Dr. Buie recognized it immediately and so did a visiting Dr. with him. Some of the pictures of them out there really didn’t look like my son’s his were just raised bumps, skin colored. They are all gone now after 1 ½ years. - From: mb12 valtrex [mailto:mb12 valtrex ] On Behalf Of Shanon Sent: Tuesday, February 12, 2008 12:12 PM To: mb12 valtrex Subject: Help with rashes, anyone???? Guest guest
No problem. For me there is little as frustrating as when my son is struggling with something and it seems there is no good help out there. Our son's doctor is using oral disodium EDTA for a specific gut protocol she is supervising him through, but it acts also as his oral chelator. We will move to IV when I think he is ready. What is happening with the rashes is that the skin is trying to purge or detox "stuff" though it, which shows with the rashes. I REALLY don't know the actual physiology of the process. I just know that the bad stuff your protocols are targeting are leaving through his skin. An epsom bath will aid the skin in the detox, so it is a fine idea for kids who tolerate epsoms. Good luck, Re: Help with rashes, anyone???? Oh my goodness, thanks so much for repying. Then I am not alone!!! Another question, then if you wont mind?? Guest guest
I would continue to do what you're doing if you are thinking this is a detox rash Shanon. If it's virus or other coming out through the skin, then this is a good sign that what you are giving him is helping his body to rid itself of bad guys. We have seen rashes on an off here at my house too. And mostly since we started antivirals. Our doc's office told me this is a good sign of viral elimination. Even though it looks annoying, itchy, pink, uncomfortable, whatever, just keep going, they said. Keep in mind that with an Epsom bath, you are detoxifying thru the skin. Maybe this is what you are seeing right after the bath. Most recently, my son had a rash too that was all over his thighs. Kind of dry and bumpy. Tiny bumps, but skin colored. It happened immediately after I increased the dose of one of his antivirals. It's gone now, after about two weeks. People on this board seem to post about rashes here often. Me included. If you do a search within this board for "rashes" you'll probably find a lot of old posts about it too. Guest guest
Olive oil rubbed over the effected area 3 times per day helped my boy. Olive oil has many medicinal properties. Suggest you at least try this for 1 week. Good luck. AKShanon wrote: I know I am getting to be a pest but I cant seem to get any answers.
