Hi, Coyote,

I just read your post about your dad. It just sucks. I feel like crying

right along with you. Somtimes it is these kind of happenings that bring me the

most sadness and frustration. It is just so hard to understand how this could

happen. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. We are here when you need

to vent.

Much love,

Piper

Coyote,

Thanks for sharing ... it helps to know that other people have those

kinds of conversations with their LO's. I had to try to get my dad to

go back to his house that he's lived in for 26 years when he decided

to take a walk the other day and he didn't even know who I was.

Coyote:

Your message truly hit home for me. Imagine how frustrating it is

for your dad to know what it means to own a house and then not

understand or remember him owning his own home. I hate this bloody

disease.

Allow me to join all the others who are hugging you and sending warm

thoughts your way.

My heart goes out to you Coyote-

Have just been having the same moments the last three days with my

mom. Ended up listening to Best of Bread CD on the way home tonight

from the care center and there is a song " Just to have you back again "

I guess the singer wrote it for his mother who passed away. Well, i

cried all the way home during the song and after it was done because

with this damn LBD they don't have to die. You would give everything

you owned just to have them back the way they were and the way they

should be.

I just can't stand it when my mom gets so confused and then asks me

why she is like that. She can't understand why she trys to stand up

to walk and has fallen a couple of times so she keeps trying to stand

up and we have been lucky she hasn't hurt herself too bad. They are

good at keeping an eye on her at the care center but sometimes she

just bolts up so fast. She never trys to when we are there. Some days

are good and she does not try at all but in her confusing state she

trys when we are not there.

I have lost 10 lbs in the last 2 months since this all can to a head

and i did not need to. She even worrys about that i've lost weight!

I too HATE this disease! It's just not fair!

Hugs to you and your dad.....

Sharon,

I just didn't trust the nh staff and insisted they use the lap pillow so

she couldn't stand up. It didn't take her long to get use to it and she

eventually felt more safe with it on. The state didn't appreciate that

I insisted she have it on, but she used her feet and got around the

small nh she was in just fine. She just couldn't stand up. She had

some falls anyway but they were a lot less than they would have been.

Donna, as I mentioned in an earlier post: you have been so helpful to me in

more ways then you will ever know and once again your experience is helping

me. What exactly is a " lap pillow " ?
