Amplifier Question

Hi

I am trying to figure out the operating specifications of amplifiers

such as the GB-A4. It is usually quoted as a 10 Watt amplifier with

many sites claiming this means it delivers 10 Watts to the body (via

pads).

By my calculations, for the human body to dissipate 10 Watts of power

would require a voltage of several kiloVolts and a current of a few

milliAmps (i.e. lethal). Clearly this must be wrong?

Does the spec. actually mean that the amplifier can deliver 10 Watts

to a 50 Ohm load? In this case the voltage would be around 22 Vrms

which seems much safer!

Can anybody clear this up or point me to a source of information

that's a little less fuzzy and non-technical than most?

thanks

Tim
