The reason I was asking is that I would love to meet you in person. We go

away most weekends until Thanksgiving, but after that I might be able to

meet on a Saturday or something. I work until 6 during the week but might

be able to swing an evening if that's better (assuming that you might want

to do this too!) sheesh I am so forward ;-)

Never mind forward, I'd love to meet with you. Could we get together

sometime after Nov. 1? The reason being is that my daugther is getting

married on this date and we are losing our minds getting people together for

fittings and such every evening (we have 7 weeks to put this shindig

together). I expect life to be back to normal after this. I'm looking

foward to meeting you!

Dear Kath:

Yes, I found that this past year, when the realization that my daughter would

be leaving soon, I made more time for both of them by cutting back. We can

never substitute for the time spent together, even is it is doing nothing much.

I am glad you still have a daughter at home! How old is she? Going back to

school is a huge commitment, and you will have plenty of time for it when you

have less responsibilities. I am sorry life feels like a roller coaster,

maybe yu can take a walk at least once a week. Would your daughter go with you?

You could get is done by the time your husband gets home!

A couple of years ago, the telephone outlet for the computer in each of their

rooms got damaged (from mistreatment, I am sure). They kept asking to have

them fixed, bu I ignored them and kept puttingit off. They had to go on the

computer in the family room from then on, so I could be there with them any time

I wanted. I told just before she left & she thought it was cute/evil

of me! LOL!

Your diet routine seems like mine used to be! After my change of life, I

went up to 150 lbs., I am short with tiny bones. That was 8 lbs more than my

pregnacy weight, I exercised and got down to a stable weight, but could loose no

more for over 6 years. Last Thanksgiving I could not continue exercising

regularly, and stayed in the same weight. Finally, 2 months ago I went on the

Atkins diet, after several others, including our own South Beach Diet. I now

lost 12 lbs. Conclusion: I think exercise makes you more healthy and feel

better, but in order to loose weight , the only thing that worked was not

eating.

Atkins takes you out of the carbohydrate addiction, and with the increased

protein intake, I am never hungry. I also added flaxseed oil to the diet and

watch out for the cholesterol content in all foods, and drink 8 oz of water

before meals. I am 58 years old and have to get back to exercising to keep my

metabolism up, etc.

I am glad you are using your time for your family. That is the best way you

can take care of yourself. My best to you Kath, keep in touch, hugs,

Josie

Dear Josie

I wish I could put my life back somewhat. I feel like I am on a roller

coaster that is driving in the dark...I gave up my efforts to go to part

time university this fall as I was far too overwhelmed with everyone else

and even though I miss it sometimes, the stress level has gone down a great

deal. I have decided that since I can't stop that roller coaster I might as

well sit back and hang on for dear life instead of having my hands busy

doing other things...

I am glad to hear that you are doing something for yourself. I thought I

was too with going back to school but the truth is it was causing more time

away from family and I have enough of that dealing with mom living next

door. My husband started a new job in January and he is gone from the house

at 7:15 am and doesn't return before 7:30-8:00 pm. I want to be there for

my daughter and for the little time I have with him and homework and class

time would interfere. Perhaps I will go back when I feel there is a better

time but for now I cannot cope with that too.

I have never " ran " but have seriously tried to walk for exercise and was

doing well until a couple of years ago. I stopped one day and never quite

got back into the routine. I am usually trying to lose weight or I'm

gaining it and I hate that I have to think about it all the time but again I

can't seem to fit walking in to the schedule at this timeexcept for a

casual now and then. But despite everything I am feeling better than I was

last spring so I guess cutting back on things WAS taking care of myself.

Dear Donna:

Thank you, yes, I have to get with my agenda and my lists and make a whole

new schedule for myself. I am going back to my running and other exercise

routines that make me feel so much better, so I can make up for what was

supposed

to be done in the summer. I am feeling better already and alittle more

efficient. I appreciate your concern.
