Interesting choices. I like the CSI shows (not so much NYC though), NCIS, and some of the Law and Order franchise. Not a fan of Bones only because of Booth (who I spend most of the show wanting to kick you know where because he's a bully hiding behind his FBI badge) nor House because I don't like doctor shows. The History franchise channels I watch a lot too. Unfortunately, reality programming is invading those channels too. History has this show called Top Shot. This is a Survivor format show where the contestants shoot different kinds of weapons. Its not to my liking really because they vote people completely off the show. I'd rather see everyone stay so even if they lose the competitions they still get to shoot all the way through, they just don't compete anymore. Either that or a full team competition where it is total points at the end of the series that determines the winning team and MVP on the team.

You're right about people being voyeurs. Its another kind of gossip except with these shows, the attention junkies are inviting you in to watch them misbehave. I think you can really see the affect on the young in the STD statistics. Even during the Clinton years the numbers were slowly declining and they were still dropping into the Bush years. The last few years, however, the number of new STD cases has been skyrocketing for the under 25 set. I don't think it is a coincidence that during this time we had Britney Spears go from the girls next door to super tramp and today's teen singers are being sluttier than even Madonna dared to be 15 years ago. Then there are all those people famous for being famous and behaving like savages. More and more sex on broadcast TV, let along the movies, raunchy song lyrics, etc., etc. The slide has been building up but really seems to be picking up speed.

From the reality shows category, I like Swamp Loggers and Deadliest Catch, Hell's Kitchen, and Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. I watch Frontline, Nova, the Antiques Roadshow, and The American Experience on PBS. Sometimes I will watch the new Doctor Who series. From regular TV I like Bones, CSI: Criminal Intent, Medium, and House. I like a lot of shows from the History Channel and American Experience and enjoy documentaries. I am not too big on sitcoms these days.

I noticed that about dance shows even some years ago. Some of the dances were extremely suggestive and the crowds loved it.

Even some competitive show like 'so you think you can dance' have some performances that are really sexually suggestive.
