Help - Referal to a Psychiatrist

Hi,

Can anybody give me a referal to a psychiatrist who is not pill

happy. My son is 12, and was diagnosed with PDD-NOS when he was 2.

Now that he's older, he's verbal and bright - and almost seems more

like he's ADD sometimes - unless you take a minute to know him - then

you can see the PDD.

The thing is he does not respond to traditional ADD stimulants - they

actually make him worse. I cannot seem to get the current

psychiatrist to listen to me about this - even my son says he doesn't

like to take them because they make him feel nervous and impatient.

This is not what we are trying to accomplish!

I feel like I'm trying to explain this, and the nurse treated me like

we were in some sort of war of wits that she is right - but I am sure

that I am - and I need help for my son - Even a couple of his

teachers said he had been more agitated, and we had the same

experience when we tried it before.

Does anybody have a referal in the area. I live in Spring. I would

like to get some help for him to be able to fit in better at school,

but I know that stimulants are not right for him!

Thanks!
