Wi Fi has been a known vulnerability for a long time. Signals often go far beyond the building it is intended for which allows people to get free access to the internet and also hack into the system, perhaps from within the system, bypass the security at the regular entry nodes. Its rather amusing that it is still so widely used and increasing in presence, particularly the handheld devices which are themselves vulnerable, with so little through to security.
