In the past they have done more than this and more or less been ignored. They should be ignored again, at least publicly. I find it interesting that China is "sitting on the fence." That should be something to take note of and remember what I said in a previous post. Maybe some in the administration are heeding the myth that WWII got the US out of the Great Depression. It didn't. It just let government get huge. Maybe they are following the lead of so many other failed leaders who started a war to distract the people from their failures. That never ends well for the leaders or the nation. There is also the oddity that most leaders seem to think they aren't a "real" leader unless they fight a war or two. Most US Presidents have used the military to one degree or another. Some just punitive raids (The Barbary Pirates, Grenada), major wars we might not have needed to get involved with (WWI, Vietnam), And some where we had little choice (WWII, "the war on terror"), as well as some turkeys we shouldn't have bothered with (Spanish American War, Haiti occupations, Bosnia). I don't think we should be responding like this to North Korea since we already have two wars going on that are taxing our military to the limit.
