Guest guest
Over the last couple of days, some kind of precipitation fell for around 40 hours. Most of that was rain, but starting Sunday night it turned into snow which fell through Monday morning. This came as a real surprise to the forecasters because Sunday night the rain was supposed to be ending and things clearing up. About 2" fell here. What happened was that the air dried up for some reason with the result that the dew point is currently an extremely rare -2 degrees. In a couple of days we could have some nasty weather coming in again and maybe again this weekend. I've heard that the Gulf Oil Spill might have actually affected the Gulf Stream more than has been stated officially. This could be related to the cold winter Europe is having and if there is less heat off the US East Coast then it could be possible that the cold air from the arctic is coming down further and earlier. Then again it could also be long term weather patterns, or both.
