Hi ,

How old is now? Does he have any others signs of AAT deficiency?

allergies, asthma, frequent chest infections, elevated liver enzymes, low

albumin, high bilirubin, etc?

I'm way behind on my reading of the list. My son was 3 weeks early and had

jaundice. Is this something I should test for? Thanks, Jerri

Hi Sharnita,

I have a daughter who is 14 (allergies, mild asthma, excema) and a son who is 11

(ADHD/ODD/allergies/nosebleeds).

See the link below for a pdf on ACT Study for testkits:

If you don't have trouble with pdf files, the number is 1-877-886-2383.

To All listmembers - I asked in my original if anyone had similar a experience

with jaundice or premature deliveries. Anyone?

Thanks,

in PA

Hi Jerri,

How are your son's liver function tests? It wouldn't hurt to have

him tested for AAT. Chances are that he doesn't have this, but if

he does it would be a piece of the puzzle answered. I haven't

tested my son yet (he's giving me grief about getting stuck). I

just found out today that my daughter was fortunate enough to get my

normal gene, not the mutant one. The one from my husband was also

normal, so it is not the cause of her allergies/asthma (she, btw,

did not have jaundice). Feel free to email off-list if you'd like.

Take care!
