Guest guest
The Little Rascals had several musical shows that are on video and dvd now. We have one called Little Rascals Varieties that all of my kids love. The musical numbers are old Tin Pan Alley songs, and it's easy to find the lyrics to most of them online if he wants to really sing along. The old Mickey Mouse Club shows are on dvd, too. Re: music videos for kids VeggieTales You might also try Magic School Bus (fun yet educational - although I don't know how much music there is). Maggie music videos for kids Hey everyone, My twins are turning 13(yikes!) in May. I'm trying desperately to come up with some birthday ideas for them. Ben really likes to watch videos but is interested mainly in musical type videos. We have a huge selection of Wiggles, Kidsongs, Disney Sing-a-longs, etc. The problem is that I think Ben is getting bored with these and I would also like to find something a little less " babyish " --- if it exists. If you have any ideas regarding this or ANY other birthday idea--please let me know. Thanks, a
Guest guest
What about a video of CATS or Wicked or some of the other family friendly Broadway shows. Also, have you thought about transitioning him to just listening to music with headphones? The Beetles would be a great choice for listening. . . . .I did a quick look and could not find any videos that had been set to Beetles music. The Yellow Submarine might be interesting for him too. Guest guest
ohh, also, Once Upon A Matress, Oklahoma. Also, somewhere I stumbled across a very musical " Around the World in 80 Days " --the Houston Public Library has some really great musical videos---that you can try out on him to see if he likes it before delving in and purchasing them. Guest guest
a Amy Grant has some videos. So does Joe Scruggs who is somewhat for younger kids but all ages seem to enjoy them. His studio is in Austin and you can go right there and buy the CDs, DVDs, etc. Or you can order online. Raffi has some older kid videos. There is a great organization called Music for Life and it is the African Childrens Choir. I just saw them last night and they are amazing. Their songs are religious based. THey have a DVD, I just bought, called Teach me to Dance. You can reach them at www.africanchildresnchoir.com I assume you can order their stuff. It is African music with drums, singing and some prerecorded music with singing. My son liked it. My son loves music as well so I am always looking for new ones. Guest guest
" The Backyardigans " are out on video now and very well done - present lots of interesting senarios, music, dance and social skills. " School House Rocks " is another of Will's favorites and even thought he doesn't understand all of it, he watches it over and over. If anyone has kiddos learning to read, the Leap Frog videos are fabulous.... " The Letter Facory " , " The Word Factory " ...there are about five in all...perfect for visual learners. Guest guest
My children like cats, so the Musical " Cats " is a hit in my house. Don't know if it works as a birthday theme. But I thought it was mature for a 2-year old... Guest guest
Hey everyone, Thanks so much to all of you who responded to my question regarding music videos. Some of the ones mentioned are videos that we have at home but there were a couple of suggestions I will look into. In fact, I am going to check out Amazon right now. Thanks again for all your help--you guys are great! a

Guest guest
The Kidsongs tapes are really good. My boys have been watching them for years, I probably own almost every one they've put out! a Re: music videos for kids Just bought Kidsongs DVD (which was a PBS show) at Wal-Mart for $1 (on a round rack near the checkout stand) and they are songs (Little Deuce Coupe, All Shook Up, Hound Dog) that are fun for the parents but sung by kids. Each DVD has a theme, trucks, beach, I can do it, animals...and there is actually a little bit of learning that goes along with it! The kids loved it! > > Hey everyone, > > Thanks so much to all of you who responded to my question regarding music videos.
