Guest guest
Second grade a success for Aidan <http://www.ednews.org/articles/12338/1/Second-grade-a-success-for-Aidan/Pag e1.html> The end of the school year signals a new beginning for autistic 7-year-old; the transition to third grade will take all summer. A year ago, special education teacher Larissa Kaatz wouldn't have had any trouble picking little Aidan VillaseƱor- out from the crowd. Aidan, who was diagnosed with autism at age 3, would've been screaming, crying and almost incapable of standing in line with his classmates at Maplewood Elementary School, she said. Yet, during the school's end-of-the-year track and field day, she initially looked right over the brown-haired second-grader as he sat along a fence, eating snacks with classmates.
