Happy New Year everyone! *Teaching Social Skills (16 hour class) Approved by Dept. of Education for teacher training hours! Sat 3rd and Sun 4th 10am-6pm Registration: $200.00 per person Instructor: A. Reis M.A This intense workshop will cover all the basics of teaching social and play skills utilizing a Behavior Analysis approach. Topic areas will include: What are social skills, selection of play skills/social skills to teach, incidental teaching procedures, utilization of reinforcement, prompting and prompt fading, as well as data collection. *Teaching Social Skills (20 hour class) Approved by Dept. of Education for teacher training hours! Mon 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, Feb 2nd 6pm-10pm Registration: $200.00 per person Instructor: A. Reis M.A This intense workshop will cover all the basics of teaching social and play skills utilizing a Behavior Analysis approach. Financial Planning for Children With Disabilities Wed 14th 6-7:30pm Registration: $10.00 per person Instructor: Jack Beinstock - Met Life Planning for your child’s financial future. Creation of a trust and wills will be one focus area of this very special gathering. Intro to Music Therapy Fri 16th 7pm-9pm Registration: $10.00 per person Instructor: TBA Explore the benefits of music with us as we discuss musical therapy. *Basics of ABA (16 hour class) Approved by Dept. of Education for teacher training hours! Sat 17th, Sun 18th 10-6pm Registration: $200.00 per person Instructor: A. Reis M.A This intense workshop will cover all the basics of Behavior Analysis as well as some common teaching methods used within an ABA program. Topic areas will include Reinforcement, Punishment, Prompting, Data collection and analysis, Maintenance, Discrete Trial Teaching and Incidental teaching procedures. Sibling Group Sat 31st, Feb 21st, March 6th 6:30-8:30 Registration: $10.00 per child Instructor: A. Reis M.A Location: Heart share 82-12 151 Ave A parent information exchange will take place during each sibling group meeting. Child care will also be available. Siblings are often an overlooked part of the family when it comes to explaining autism. During these special gatherings siblings will get to explore autism using an interactive, kid friendly approach. Using discussions and interactive games typical siblings will also be able to express their feelings and embarrassments as they relate to having a brother/sister with Autism.
