Hi ,

I just finished my phone consultation with Dr. G. Based on talking with him and

reading this list. I realize now never to let Tyler stay sick so long. I

need to call Dr.G right away and have him put on an anti-viral for the flu. I

need to really stay on top of congestion and keep it dried up with triminic, or

zyrtec and flonase. He is getting better behavior-wise but no where near as good

as he was. I'm hoping I can get him back up to par before school starts on

Monday. Sicknesswise he is over it, he just has a little congestion. He is not

even coughing anymore but autistic behaviorwise he has taken some big steps

backwards. This really does fit with Dr. G's overall message of don't overload

the immune system too much, remove as many offenders as possible and our kids do

get better. I am heart broken that we have taken such a leap back but am

convinced more then ever that Dr. G is right on. He also told me not to worry

about MCV and MCH being high, he said this had to do with cell size and

metabolism and is nothing to worry about. I hope I didn't misquote him and this

might apply only to my son but I do remember someone asking about this before. I

hope this helps. We are staying the course with all his meds until he is fully

well because how can you tell what the meds are doing until we are over this.

Jerri,

Please post Dr. Goldberg's recommendations. My son sees Dr.

in Austin and follow's a similar protocol but we don't have that

close followup. Your message sounded just like my past week. My 4

year old was doing so well the past several weeks that we were afraid

to even say anything because we were afraid we would jinx it. The

flu came and after several days we went down hill. I just don't know

what to do about it. He was the best he had ever been and has taken

a giant leap backwards. Thanks to everybody for their emails. I am

usually just a reader but had to write on this one.
