Guest guest
Can anyone share if positive results? Or your experience with this program? Thank you
Guest guest
We opted for the Berard method of Auditory Integration Therapy vs the Tomatis based listening program for our twins. We did see great results for one of our guys within a couple of months after completion of the therapy as far has language development goes. The other twin did not seem to be effected by the program at all. You might want to check out the Autism Research Institute's website for explanations of each program and their differences at www.autismwebsite.com/ari/treatment/tomatis.htm
Guest guest
My son has done TLP 1-2 times a year since it came out about seven years ago. Early on , we saw a very dramatic increase in his auditory processing and conversational skills each round. Lately, the progress isn't as dramatic but most of the gains have remained. Guest guest
We did the Berard method AIT with my son as well. Saw great gains in receptive language right away, his behavior improved as well because he understood more. About 6 months after we completed it his expressive language increased. This was over 12 years ago when we had it done. There are other programs today besides Berard and Tomatis. The Listening Program http://www.rmlearning.com/auditoryprocessing.htm is done at a speech pathologist's or at home, the EASe CD's can be purchased and done at home as well http://www.vision-audio.com/. Guest guest
Are these listening programs as effective for kids who don't appear to have sound sensitivity issues? Guest guest
My son is doing the EASe, primarily at rehab right now since the headphones are on back order--we have the cd's, fanny pack and player. My 2 1/2 year old left the headphones (big record producer headphones) starting the first day the whole time playing in rehab (CD player in a fanny pack) and when it fell of when he jumped in the ball pit, he picked up the headphones and handed them to me and leaned his head forward to put them back on! It is recommended for 30 min am and 30 min pm, but we accidentaly left them on 60 minutes at rehab the first day b/c we were sure he would take them off > > Are these listening programs as effective for kids who don't appear to > have sound sensitivity issues? > Re: The listening program TLP > > We did the Berard method AIT with my son as well. Guest guest
I think these programs help processing whether there is a sound sensitivity issue or not. The children with sound sensitivity seem to benefit more because it does help them with that as well.
