Hello,

Can anyone tell me what these abbreviations stand for :

SIMP (pas de SIMP initialement compte tenu de contexte de l'histoire

obstetrique)

ASP (le controle de ASP) .. I guess this is some sort of surgical abdomen.

The report is about a patient with distended abdo, feed intolerance.

KTVO retiré à J4 (?some sort of cannula?)

B45 Cathlon périphérique avec B45 (?an infusion of ..?)

NEDC gastrique: Peptijunior (?feeding regimen of some sort ?)

Thanks !

Bridget

Cathlon : (je cite) " dispositifs intraveineux courts, appelés par abus de

langage, " cathlon " , qui est en fait un nom de marque " Voir réf. ci-dessous

:

Pour B45, c'est introuvable.

The Dictionnaire international des abréviations médicales gives the

following:

ASP: Abcès Sous-Phrénique; Abdomen Sans Préparation;

KTVO: Is not listed, but KTOV is as: Katheterism Ombilical Vein,

Cathétérisme Veine Ombilicale. I think this is it, given that the order of

words is reversed too.

NEDC: Nutrition Entérale à Débit Constant (continu). cf. CEDF: Continuous

Enteral Drip Feeding

I could not find the others.

Good luck.

Dominique

Dominique,

Thank you, and thanks to Gilberto and also, for your help!

I think the 'umbilical catheter' translation fits with the babies

history (standard practice).

Could you tell me the ISBN number of the book of abbreviations.

Thank you again !

Thanks ,

I was thinking it was maybe the name of the catheter brand. I think

maybe B45 is the size code, or reference code, all not so important

for the immediate care of the now grown child.

The clients say they not worried about this, but thanks a million

for looking it all up.

I've also saved theese reference sites.

The dictionary is called:

Dictionnaire international des abréviations médicales by Maurice Alain Touati,

also referred to as Sigles et symboles abréviations médicales européennes

(=S.E.S.A.M.E.....pun intended, no doubt...)

It is published by La maison du dictionnaire, ISBN: 2-85608-058-8

My copy is from 1994, and I don't know if there is a newer, updated publication.

It does not contain everything, obviously, but comes very handy at times.
