Korea Associated Press - December 3, 2010 7:24 PM ET JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has canceled a trade trip to Taiwan and South Korea. The governor's office on Friday cited " travel challenges. " A spokesman declined to elaborate. It was not known if the trade trip would be rescheduled. There have been tensions between North Korea and South Korea since North Korea shelled a South Korean island last month. Two civilians and two marines died. Nixon had planned to be overseas from Dec. 10 to Dec. 16. He was to start in Taiwan and travel to South Korea on Dec. 14. The governor was traveling with his wife, two state department directors, business leaders and several trade and agriculture groups.
