I think you have the right approach, forget about the scale!! Did you end up buying the 6 pack from QVC? Believe it or not, the Tae-Bo tapes are even more fun that the Tae-Boxing! I think you would really like them! Again, welcome to our list and to Tae-Bo!!
Guest guest
, Welcome to the group! If you like 's Crunch tape you will LOVE Taebo. (There is a difference). If you don't have any tapes yet, I would suggest you start out with the LIVE-4pack (or 5-pack if it includes Abs and glutes) You can find it online at www.taebo.com or at Target. The Get Ripped tapes on QVC are good but I think a someone just starting out needs to experience the Live 4-pack for motivation. Remember to start out slowly to avoid burn out. Most of us took a while to be able to get through the tapes comftorably. When I started I was fortunate enough to have been working out already for several years....and you know what? They were STILL hard. Thats why I love Taebo. Its really for everyone. A beginner can modify it to their level and it will give a great workout to the most fit athlete (which I'm not lol)! As for your asthma....talk to your doctor!!! I have to use my inhaler 20 minutes prior to working out outside and inside on a bad allergy day. Welcome to the group!!!!!! :-) << I've been lurking on digest for about 2 weeks now. My friend Joan (hi Joan!) has been talking about tae-bo for a while now, and the other week she told me about it being on qvc... and I was like " Who's Blanks? " Well, I think she was going to have a heart attack right there! LOL! So I watched some of the qvc show, and tried the punches and doing the rolling hands thing (not sure what that's called yet)... I did that off and on all day for a few days, and let me tell you, I was sore! But it looked like lots of fun. I hesitated on buying the 6pack because I thought " What if it's like every other exercise tape and I burn out and give up? " Then I was talking to another friend, and she and her daughter have a tae-bo tape that they got at Best Buy... she picked one up for me and sent it to me. I got it Monday afternoon, and sat down to watch it. Wow! It looks like FUN! It's a Crunch Kickology and Tae-boxing tape. So this morning I decided to try it. After my husband left for work, so he couldn't laugh at me. LOL! I just got done. Whew! That's a work out! I didn't try the second half yet, because it's more fast paced, and I was doing good to keep up with the first part. I'm sweating, but not wheezing, which is a good thing. I've got asthma, but not too bad anymore. I'm very overweight and out of shape, but my goal is to be able to climb the 3 flights of stairs of a cabin I'm going to in Gatlinburg, TN in July without panting and having to stop. LOL! I think this is the best group for me, because I already hate the scales. I am going to base my weight loss/muscle tone by clothing size. Right now, not having to be in a plus size is my short term goal. That would be awesome! Then I'll set another. I'm going to go do my measurements so I can watch that too. Sorry this got so long. Love ya Jecka : ) >>

Your goals sound awesome and I know you will reach them It's a great idea to set short term goals for yourself and to go by how your clothes fit (and not the dreaded scale)! I would definitely recommend that you invest in either the Live 4-pack or the QVC Get Ripped video's! You will love the newer workouts and they are lots of fun Are you from Tennessee? Just asking cause I saw that you were going to Gatlinburg, TN in July and I'm in Nashville Good luck with your new fitness journey! I recommend that you buy or borrow one of the tae bo instructional tapes so you learn the proper techniques of how to do the different punches and kicks. You can hurt yourself if you do them wrong. Guest guest
Thanks ! I see myself making a trip to Target in my near future for more tae-bo tapes! Motivation, yes I need that... Ya think could do a tape for Fun Laundry and Cleaning? ; ) I think what convinced me, was I saw an older lady on the qvc show doing it. Sorry, I don't know what her name was, and I hope she's not here and getting offended at my calling her an older lady, she looked to be at least 70, so that's older than me! : ) I figured if she could do it, surely I could at least try it too! So here I am. : ) I'll have to talk to my doctor.. I am not coordinated enough or something to get inhalers to work for me, so I take a pill whenever I have an asthma attack, and I'm out of them. Been out for awhile... I think I've almost outgrown it, except when I do real heavy exercise like hiking. Then I think I'm going to die. I learned to take it before I even started, and that helped. Thanks for the reminder! Love ya Jecka : ) , Welcome to the group! If you like 's Crunch tape you will LOVE Taebo. (There is a difference). Which just means that he will demonstrate the moves first without a bag, and then with the bag (you don't need to have the bag for this workout)! The only thing is that I don't think he goes over the kicks very much in that Instructional! If you have any questions about the kicks once you start doing the workouts, just let us know
