I can't do those kinds of stretches " Colleen, I have the same problem since my arthritis problem (the pain is mostly in my wrists). I'd suggest what Ann Marie said or what I do: flex at your fingers instead of your wrists so the weight of your body is on your fingers and not the palms of your hands.
