Guest guest
Someone else posted about the organization not representing what a lot of us parents believe can cause autism. I went to Autism speaks main website and it basically says there is no connection with mercury and autism. Guest guest
just because you may believe it to be true, doesn't necessarily make it true. I'm not saying there is absolutely no connection, just saying you might want to keep an open mind in case one day they find out that it was a mosquito bite during the second trimester or something just as random. are there not kids in other countries who are autistic whose families have no direct link to vaccinations or mercury? what is the cause of their autism? blessingsx10@... wrote: Someone else posted about the organization not representing what a lot of us parents believe can cause autism. Guest guest
Actually the autism rates in other countries are rising, and guess what, all these vaccines contianing mercury that were not put out in the US have been sold to developing countries for their use. You also have to consider that it's not just childhood vaccines that contain mercury, fish is very high in mercury, dental amalgams are chalk full of mercury, and the air we breathe is full of mercury from coal plants and cars never mind all the other chemical pollution from industry that is being dumped. So studies for enviornmental influences on the autism rate are needed, unfortunately, if enviornmental factors are proven, then mercury in vaccines is also vulnerable, so none of that is being studied by these big organizations lest they step on some important toes. Genetics seem to be the only safe studies to do since they will benefit the " important folks " they can come up with drugs to sell (and advertise on TV using th acronym AS), procedures to do etc..... but no law suits from parents with injured kids. Conventional medical science takes forever to change, they laughed at the first person who discovered that people were dying from surgeries because surgeons were not sanitizing their hands before each surgery. It took them a lot of years to admit the truth of that discovery. Same will happen with vaccines, only its up against more than just a simple change in the way scientists think, its up against profits and money. I hate it when money triumphs overs morals and truth. Guest guest
Thimersol is still a preservative in the vaccines. Go to the following website and click on the vial at that top. www.informedchoice.info From: asccnagla To: Texas-Autism-Advocacy Sent: Thursday, March 15, 2007 4:20 PM Subject: Re: Autism speaks Actually the autism rates in other countries are rising, and guess what, all these vaccines contianing mercury that were not put out in the US have been sold to developing countries for their use. Guest guest
, You are absolutely correct, they still contain thimerosal, some doctors still have batches that contain mercury, and even the new vaccines still have mercury in them. Under a certain weight the FDA does not require thimerosal to be listed as an ingredient, but it is still there. Flu shots recommended for children have mercury in them, and other vaccines like single tetanus shots are still preserved with thimerosal, so do the meningitis shots. Guest guest
Hi, I have been reading all of your messages about Thimerosal. My son has been diagnosed with Aspergers, and his pedia. has recommended a secondary chicken pox shot (because there has been some breakthroughs of chicken pox). Does the chicken pox shot contain Thimerosal? Is there somewhere I should look? Thanks. Guest guest
Hi Sherri: The Varicella (chicken pox) vaccine (Varivax (M)) is thimerosal free and always has been according to data that I have seen over the years. Guest guest
No, the chicken pox vaccine is a live virus vaccine with its own set of problems, like the MMR vaccine it has the possibility of causing gut damage (MMR vaccine strain of virus was found in the guts of children with autism and gut problems when a PCR was performed, look for Dr. Wakefield's studies). here are the ingredients from the website: http://www.informedchoice.info/cocktail.html Varivax chickenpox Merck & Co., Inc. varicella live virus neomycin phosphate, sucrose, and monosodium glutamate (MSG) processed gelatin, fetal bovine serum, guinea pig embryo cells, albumin from human blood, and human diploid cells from aborted fetal tissue here are some of the side effects from the website: http://www.909shot.com/PressReleases/pr091300chickenpox.htm " We have been getting reports from parents that their children are suffering high fevers, chicken pox lesions, shingles (herpes zoster), brain damage and dying after chicken pox vaccination, especially when the vaccine is given at the same time with MMR and other vaccines. This FDA report confirms our concern that the chicken pox vaccine may be more reactive than anticipated in individuals with both known and unknown biological high risk factors, " Barbara Loe Fisher, president of NVIC. Here is the website that talks about comparing the vaccine and the disease of chicken pox: http://www.909shot.com/Diseases/chickenpox%20facts.htm It is important to make an informed choice, parents need to research before they vaccinate so what happened to my son and countless other children will not be repeated. The safety net of counting on your healthcare provider to give you accurate and unbiased information is not longer there, they are educated and pursued by the drug companies, their information is biased and influenced by those who stand to gain a lot of profit from vaccines. It will get wore as more parents fight back and refuse to blindly vaccinate. Guest guest
Thanks so much for your response. At least now I can somewhat nail down where to look. It's all so confusing. Thanks so much also for all the work you and your family have done for autism. I see your name on many e-mails. Keep up the great work and hopefully we'll see change!!! Guest guest
The arguments surrounding the charity Autism Speaks point to a fundamental problem: resources are going primarily for research and researchers, and not for those who have autism. That's where I have a problem with funding anymore Walk's And also having read the posting of their IRS records how they have spent the funds on such salaries in the six figures, a private Jet's Also the other nonsense - like elaborate parties for all the volunteers after raising the money for AUTISM!! NOT PARTIES at swanky hotels. Lastly lets not forget the monogrammed Polo Shirt that Autism speaks sent us Express Mail!! How much did that all cost??? And why??? Just in case we didn't have anything to wear to the Party? I will walk for Autism, but not Autism Speaks the way they are running their organization. And why would you denounce your own daughter who has an autistic son?? ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
I encourage anyone that has questions about the way Autism Speaks spends their money to not listen to the messages posted by opponents to the organization and look at the actual report at http://www.autismspeaks.org/about_us.php. Autism Speaks is supported by a large number of volunteers that dedicate countless hours to the cause, unlike UCP, ACS, and others that have paid staff in various locations across the world, Autism Speaks survives by it's volunteers. It is important to let the volunteers know that they are appreciated and the costs that are incurred have to be far less than those of other organizations such as UCP and ACS considering they are paying staff year round. In addition, Autism Speaks is working on implementing programs for the community and individuals with autism. They started a program for parents that have been caught up in the court system and do not have the funds to hire another lawyer, they have lawyers that will work for the families pro bono so hopefully we have less issues with insurance and schools. They also teach volunteers how to advocate to politicians to help get insurance bills passed into laws. I hope I don't offend anyone, but I am a strong supporter of Autism Speaks and desperately believe in the quest to research the genetics of autism and I may seem naive to some, but I do believe we will find a cure. I am, however, disappointed by the way the family situation has been played out in the media. blessingsx10@... wrote: The arguments surrounding the charity Autism Speaks point to a fundamental problem: resources are going primarily for research and researchers, and not for those who have autism.
