Guest guest
Hi Tonya, My message wasn't very clear, what I meant was aren't they both trained in Verbal Behavior? I have been to a couple of workshops at the northwest Houston ASA location and have heard both and Lee Ann speak but I'm curious if they have VB training. was the person who coordinated the Vince Carbone workshop late last November so I wonder if she's trained in it too? I'm not thinking very clearly this evening because it's been a very long day. This morning I took my son to the Houston Texans football Ability-Camp and the draft party at Reliant Football Stadium and then to play little league challenger baseball--you'd think I was the one who did all the physical activity but I'm just fried and brain fatigued. Guest guest
Hi CReece, Sorry, but I don't know an answer to your question. is on this email list and will probably answer you when she checks her email. I got to know her on a committee and really respect her! I know about the tired! Mom decided to do marathon garden centers today. Since she's in her mid-sixties guess who got to dig the holes for what she bought! :-) Tonya Re: Brainstorming Ideas for a Quality Autism-Houston Hi Tonya, My message wasn't very clear, what I meant was aren't they both trained in Verbal Behavior? Guest guest
Hi CReece and Tonya, Let me clarify about VB and ABA. I am a Board Certified Associate Behavior Analysis and use the components of ABA to work with children in the field of autism. Verbal Behavior is a component of ABA that I use following the book from Skinner, Verbal Behavior. I have also been to many trainings with Dr. Carbone and was mentored by one of his associates. Doing quality ABA focuses on VB, like Mand, Tacts, IntraVerbals and all that stuff. I hope this answers your questions. Tonya, thanks for the kind words. Guest guest
Hi Vickie, my son doesn't play challenger football but plays challenger baseball in Katy. I read somewhere (but right now I can't remember where) that challenger league sports is going to start up a football league and a swim league locally--I think I read it in one of the Katy magazines. You might ask Meg Smola if she knows something about challenger football. Guest guest
It was not Challenger football. It was the Houston Texans Ability Camp. It happened to coincide with their draft party day. My son went with his Dad and sister, but left before they had to make the trek to the football arena yesterday.l They just participated in the events inside the Bubble and left. Good time was had by all. We just finished our day of the West U challenger baseball. Such a positive encouraging experience where children of all ability levels hit the ball and take a base with parents cheering them on! Go Yankees!
