My boss is in Seattle on business and was about to take off from the airport to come back to Texas when the quake hit. He is okay though! Make sure you have the house and the foundation inspected thoroughly. Check all your gas and water connections for tweaks and leaks. I lived WAY too near the epicenter in the San Valley for the big one in 1971 (was that the year?), our home suffered a tremendous amount of damage. And my brother was THROWN out of bed when the Northridge quake hit. I now live in Carson (still southern CA) which is not prone to shakin' and bakin'. ) Carol << Thanks Carol! Me too! I was under my desk and the powers that be decided to evacuate the building and he came and got me. He also was the one who remembered our cell phone in the car. It's an older one, fortunately, and is analog so while the rest of the people were having problems with their digital ones, I was able to get a call off to the kids school.
