Guest guest
> Just curious - what do you work out in? and where? It's been fun reading everyone's answers to this question...LOL! I work out in my living room. I think I'm the odd one here because I actually prefer to sweat, so I wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt! When I run, I do the same thing...so I sweat more...LOL! I know, I'm weird...LOL! In the video's I wore pants cause I don't like my legs and I wasn't about to show them on national televison...LOL! Guest guest
I workout in the basement in a family room. I have all my downstairs heat vents turned off so it's only about 65 degrees down there (about 62 in the early a.m.). I love keeping it cool. I have also literally wore a spot out in my carpet down there!! Yep, the Hubby wasn't thrilled when he spotted that one... Oh well, I've earned it....hee...hee (marking my terrirorty is all) Anyway, I workout barefoot, lycra (nylon-type) shorts and a sports bra. I just recently tried leggings and I like the freedom to move in them, but my lefts felt like they were on fire, they got sooo hot. Darcy who has a ton of workout clothes from rummage sales and also apologizez cuz she always has so much to say!!
Guest guest
Darcy, No need to apologize! I always enjoy reading your posts! Guest guest
Oh, My Dear Monse, you always know the right things to say.... But really, I don't talk too much unless it's about Tae-Bo and then you just can't shut me up!! Guest guest
, sweat doesn't make you lose wait any faster, right? I know that some people beleive this, but I never have. Anway, I guess my question is that's not the reason why you dress warm or like to sweat, is it??? Darcy who still manages to sweat a ton in the 62 degree basement and shorts and sports bra... couldn't imagine wearing a long-sleeve shirt!!! > It's been fun reading everyone's answers to this question...LOL! Guest guest
I commend you Joan for getting up that early to workout, I would love to do that, but my little ones still wake me up 2-3 times a night. So I am tired getting up at 7am. So I have to deal with doing it with them hanging around, and I get real grumpy when I have to stop. Guest guest
I meant to reply to this one earlier.... You are too funny! I can understand where you are coming from though with getting a good workout in. My best friend whom also does Tae-Bo has a two-year old and I know how difficult it can be... You mothers simply amaze me!!! I will have some skillful tactics to try out when my time comes... I'm learning from the best Darcy who is getting her birth control removed in two weeks, one day...and counting.....oh how very scary (even just to type it!!) My baby (5 months) can now go in all directions in her walker. That's NOT good! I am such a bad Mom. She is always trying to get the garbage but we move it. When I work out I change the liner so she can. LOL!! She just grabs the liner and there is nothing in it nor does she touch the actual can but I feel so bad. " here sweetie - play in the trash so Mommy can work out " LOL!! > Amy M.
Guest guest
Oh no....just preparing. We are thinking maybe this fall.... I've had this fall planned for a couple of years and I can't believe it's months away. Darcy, No...I'm not trying to lose weight....LOL! I just like to sweat Mind you, when I work out at the WTC...I wear a sleeveless workout top! I've got my limits as to how much I can sweat...LOL! Guest guest
I really didn't think that the reason you liked to sweat was for weight reasons, but I just had to ask But I have to ask, am I correct for thinking that sweating does NOT help to lose weight?? Darcy is pretty certain it doesn't help, but would like to know for sure > > Anway, I guess my > > question is that's not the reason why you dress warm or like to > > sweat, is it??? > > Darcy, > > No...I'm not trying to lose weight....LOL! Guest guest
" I wish mine would do that. There always seems to be something that demands my attention and before I know it, I stop working out. So I get up at 4:50 a.m. to do it. :-( Joan " I totally understand Joan... Gilbert told me that I could work out in the evening this week while he gives Jordan his bath (which is usually my task). But he told me that next week, he'll need a break from bathtime (for Jordan), so I gotta find some other time to do it... the only way is to get up at 5 AM (for a 30 minute workout)... ouch! And I'm so NOT a morning person... Janick who is scared that she'll keep pressing on the snooze button next week by reflex
Guest guest
> But I have to ask, am I > correct for thinking that sweating does NOT help to lose weight?? Darcy, It doesn't help you lose weight because you gain anything you lost the minute you drink something..LOL! I usually lose up to about 2 lbs of water weight when I workout, which is why I always weigh myself after working out...LOL! But, it's all water weight that was lost and I'm well aware of the fact that the minute I finish that water bottle off..the weight is back I've just gotten into the habit of weighing myself after I work out, so I do that to be consistent! Guest guest
Sweating doesn't help lose weight. Sweating is our body's mechanism to cool itself. Yes, you could lose a few pounds if you've been sweating profusely. Once you re-hydrate yourself, the weight comes back. It's merely temporary water weight that you're losing. Guest guest
Janick, Believe it or not, you get used to it. At least I do. I was awake this morning from about 2:30-4 (it's been snowing here all night - very unusual) and yet, I still woke up at 4:50. If I miss doing my morning workout, dh will take care of the kids so that I can workout, but then he sits downstairs while I workout and tells me how does it differently - not critical, just stuff like when he turns his head from left to right, he stops in the middle, I don't. :-) Men - can't live with 'em, can't sell 'em for spare parts! Guest guest
I second that! I have got used to getting up early also. I have never been a morning person until this past year and now I LOVE morning (week-ends anyway ). It's my best part of the day! Anyway, I get up Wedneday, Thursday, and Friday between 4:15 - 4:45 and it has become much much easier as time progresses. It still varies... today was a rough one, but now yesterday I woke up bright- eyed and ready to kick. Set that alarm, you will be amazed at how your body reacts to stuff you MAKE it do Darcy who enjoys working out in the morning better, BUT finds that she overeats after work though, not knowing what to do w/ herself since Tae-bo is already done! > Janick, > > Believe it or not, you get used to it.
