If they did its rather late in coming. Mossad maybe, but the CIA couldn't manage such a thing.

It does seem a bit odd to use bombs, unless the vehicles are armored. It seems too much like a sledgehammer when a hammer is sufficient. Then again, Israel is not known for subtlety.

I've read of shaped charges being used in the past to kill targets in armored cars, that is the light armored cars a rich person might have. I think there was one in the late 1990's in Europe, though I don't recall the details.
