The data is not unusual for this time of year, with the number of cases typically peaking in January and February, the report said. Influenza cases were reported to be widespread throughout the US, with 13 states and Puerto Rico reporting regional activity, nine states reporting local activity and Washington, D.C., the US Virgin Islands and 23 states reporting sporadic activity.
