Guest guest
The article stated: "In a 911 call made by an Irving mother accused in the strangling deathsof her two children Wednesday, the 30-year-old woman said her children wereautistic and she wanted "normal kids." ... <snip> ... " Unfortunately, that's how many parents of children on the spectrum feel about their children. They also feel "cheated" out of being prize parents raising prize "normal" children. It bothers me that so many parents of special children -- not just children with Autism -- feel so negatively towards their own offspring. The article stated: " ... <snip> ... The family was the subject of a Child Protective Services investigation last year after Zain was left alone at home while his parents rushed his sister to a hospital to be treated for breathing problems. An agency spokeswoman said there were no signs of neglect or abuse." I beg to differ on the claim that there were no signs of neglect or abuse. The fact of the matter is that last year there was at least ONE incident of neglect where the boy was left home alone at an age where he was far too young to be left home alone -- with or without a diagnosis. If it took both parents to rush the sister to the hospital, then there was one parent for the sick child and one parent for the healthy child. All of them should have gone together to the hospital.
