I'm thinking this is going to turn into another shooting war like they had a

Rockets fired at Israeli city Eilat

JERUSALEM – Israeli police say rockets have been fired toward the southern

Israeli city of Eilat. Jordan says one blast hit its city of Aqaba, injuring

four people.

A series of explosions were heard early Monday in Eliat, a popular tourist

destination on the Red Sea.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld confirms that the blasts were caused by

rockets, but says no one was injured in Eilat. He says police are searching for

the source of the fire.

Jordan's Information Minister Ali Ayed says one rocket hit on a main street in

Aqaba, injuring four people. He could not confirm their nationalities.

It was the second such attack this year. In April, rockets were fired toward

Eilat and Aqaba, causing no injuries but hitting a Jordanian warehouse.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's

earlier story is below.

JERUSALEM (AP) — A series of explosions have been heard in the southern Israeli

city of Eilat.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says Monday that police are searching for the

source of the explosion. Israeli media outlets are reporting that five rockets

were fired at the city, landing nearby in the Red Sea.

No injuries or damage were reported.

In April, remains of a rocket were discovered in the waters near Eilat.

Eilat is a popular domestic and international tourist resort. Militant attacks

in the area are rare.
