Congratulations, Temera! Those are great results. Good for you for not

letting the scale rule you. I wonder how you strained your neck and back

doing leg lifts. Make sure you don't bounce when you do them. Move only

your leg and arm, keeping the rest of your body still. I hope you feel

better soon.

Temera,

Congratulations on the inches lost! That is awesome! I'm so glad

that you decided to measure yourself, instead of only going by the

scale...yet another reminder of how misleading the scale can be :)

Keep up the great work! You're doing a fantastic job and your hard

work is paying off :)

For the newbies, I re-started my TB journey on Jan. 9, 2001, and I am

also a member of TOPS where I weigh in every week. Since starting TB

I have gained 4 pounds, of muscle I am sure. So, I was given the

advice to measure myself, and since I need every bit of motivation, I

measured all body parts. I first measured on Jan. 23, and tonight was

2 weeks so I measured again, and OMG, holy cow!!!

That is fantastic Temera!!

Goes to show how scales are unreliable when gaining muscle mass!!!

has been mostly because of fear of facing reality!!!)

Elena~

Thanks for the post. I am so happy and motivated. As far as my neck

and back, they are so sensitive from a car accident that I have never

recovered from about 5 years ago, so everything hurts them. But, I think for

now, I will do the leg lifts with my upper body braced on the floor until I

gain more strength in my arms to hold this heavy body up. It went away the

next day and I realized that alot of it was the muscles in my back hadn't

really been used and I was really sore after BL8. Thanks for the advice it is

always welcome and appreciated.

That makes sense, Temera. Even after two years doing taebo, I still

feel it in my upper body when has us hold up our arms for a

long time. Your modification sounds like a good plan. would

be proud of you!

Temera,

If the soreness was in your lower back and it was just soreness, not

a pulled or strained muscle, then you were probably just working your

erector muscle and it's ok that it was sore :) I know that I really

feel that muscle sometimes in some of the workouts and if it's sore,

it just means that you are strengthening it!

who did AL12 the other day and it still feeling it in her butt 2 days

later...must have been the slow back kicks combined with the front

kick and then go down and touch the floor :)

Temera,

I think the modifications you are doing are the way to go! When I

first started the Studio Advanced, I always had to go down on my side

to do the roundhouse kicks to the side and I still got just as much

of a workout! I still, to this day, do most of the floorwork down on

my forearms....it just feels more comfortable to me that way!

always stresses that if something is hurting you, then you should

modify it to where you can do it comfortably :) It's actually fun

because you can REALLY see your progress over time!

, I know EXACTLY what move your talking about and how your

butt feels!! I love that move even though its killer. TBTV 17 has

them in there and I believe that's why my butt never fails to be sore

the next day. Thanks, Now I'm really excited for AL12 which should

be arriving any day now :)

Darcy who has the day off unexpectedly and doesn't know what exactly

to do to occupy myself....

Temera,

I, too, have back and neck problems from car accidents. I have noticed

lately though that I'm able to do more in general and in Taebo without

getting the burning aches that used to come along with activity. Hopefully

Taebo will bring you the same results!!
