Sorry for not acknowledging this sooner. > No problem, , glad to see you are still among us. I tend to remember all the abstract stuff from physics. And if I might reiterate a bit of what this concerned before, let me quote myself again: " The jury will be out for a long time on cell phone use and cancer and other health concerns, as it takes a long time to associate these things. As far as there being a superficial similarity between cell phones and microwave ovens, the similarities are *not* superficial. They are radiating the same energy. A microwave contains all of its more powerful energy into the foods (unless it leaks through the door), whereas cell phones radiate much less energy, but right into your body at the side of your head. Not enough time has elapsed to know for sure, but I won't be a part of the study, myself. " I still feel that until someone can demonstrate in an anechoic chamber just what the radiation that occurs around a cell phone is, I don't feel safe just using it, nor does my electrical engineer husband. I can't feel the effects of aircraft radar standing in front of one, but you can bet my innards can. The cell phones with the transmission antenna as part of the piece you put up to your head are the worst by far for electromagnetic radiation. And ya know what else, all I ever see these days is people with these devices planted on their faces. I see it in other cars, the supermarket, and even out on the nature trail. So while the cell phones are much less powerful, people sure seem to have them " on " more than they do their microwaves. Deanna

As long as the phone is several feet from your head? A perfect picture in my mind is someone gabbing on a cell phone, munching on fast food & diet pepsi while driving an SUV in the fast lane... sound familiar? By the way, hi Deanne! I keep meaning to talk to you about yoga and archery.. ~Robin Ann

According to Mercola, wired headsets actually deliver more radiation to your brain than the cell phone alone would. He now sells ferrite beads you can attach to the wire which will supposedly prevent the radiation from reaching your brain. Or you could use a bluetooth headset. Of course, there's radiation from that too, but at least it uses much, much less power. -
