Guest guest
Ok, I have beet kvass brewing on the counter, in 2 quart jars, I added only a tsp of salt per jar and more whey. I have beets in the oven now to make pickled beets and I still have tons of beets in the fridge! LOL I got a HUGE bag of beets for $2 on Saturday. We had beet soup already this week (which is sooooooo good!). And we had pizza for lunch, the yogurt dough crust it was GOOD! I was so pleased with how it turned out and the texture was PERFECT for crackers for my daughter! She is a BEAR on car trips and the only thing that keeps her happy on the road is a full mouth LOL (can't cry when your mouth is busy LOL). She is very picky at what she eats in the car (anywhere else she'll try anything!) and crackers is the one thing she will engulf. I wanted to get her OFF the commercial crackers but I wasn't having any luck finding a replacement. I made the whole grain crackers from NT and they were too hard for her (she's not quite 2) but the yogurt dough was PERFECT! So I'll be making a BIG batch of them this week as we'll be doing a lot of traveling over the holidays. We're eating Christmas dinner at a swanky-pants restaurant (mother-in-law's decree ::rolls eyes:: she knows we can't afford it but she likes to show off) so at least there should be some decent offerings on the menu (I hopr they have steak tartare, I'd like to try that!). I know I had a thermos bag around here somewhere, I'll be bringing our own butter and salad dressing and salt and such LOL. -- Mrs. () Siemens Mommy to Zack and Liddy...so far no fear, only faith; no guilt, only grace; no pride, only praise; no claim, only Christ
