Guest guest
I'd like to follow this question with another that I've been meaning to ask for some time. I've got two cats that I think are ready for a more species appropriate diet. I got Pitcairn's book and The Natural Cat (Anitra Frazier). These recipes obviously are much better than the canned food they are currently eating, but they still seem a little grain-heavy and supplement-heavy. Does this work well or is there something more NT for cats out there? Katy

Actually, all I do is use the supplement proportions from one recipe (I think it's called Poultry Delight) - I mix them up ahead of time and add an appropriate amount to each meal Da Boy gets (raw this, that or the other, sometimes cooked chicken, he loves his chicken heh). I have NEVER added any of the grains even when I was using those recipes more specifically - just the supplements (major one being Healthy Powder). I'll usually add a small amount of chopped mixed veggies to one meal, though, for some reason he seems to like that. My guy's nine and a half now, been feeding him this way for over five years, and he's still feisty as ever. :-D MFJ If I have to be a grownup, can I at least be telekinetic too? Guest guest
.... Does this > work well or is there something more NT for cats out there? Katy, The animal folks on the list seem to dig this group: rawpaws/ Teressa B.
Guest guest
Katy, The two books you mentioned do have some serious shortcomings. Someone recently posted about a group--rawpaws--where you can get any question answered about recipes, chunk feeding and supplements. It's a totally no-grain approach, with minimal supplements. (I use no supplements). They have great files as well on fleas, etc. Also, it's a very friendly and supportive group.
Guest guest
Try http://www.catnutrition.org - the recipe I use is a variation of this recipe as well as the one at http://www.blakkatz.com. I started my cats on raw 4 years ago. Another good site is catinfo.org and a really helpful and friendly list is felinefuturediet Jo Date: Wed, 16 Feb 2005 16:38:01 -0000 From: " Katy " <iowakatybug@...> Subject: Re: NN for animals - and another Q I'd like to follow this question with another that I've been meaning to ask for some time.
