Studies on Long Term High Consumption of Eggs

Anyone out there have any scientific studies on this???

My dear brother (age 51), who is starting his 3rd semister of nursing

school this month, was totally appalled at my high egg yolk

consumption. He's been brainwashed well LOL.

During the month of Dec, while putting in lots of overtime, I was

making raw milk kefir fruit smoothies for myself and my DH adding 4

pastured egg yolks, with an *occasional* egg white. This along with a

couple times a week frying up eggs for a meal. Typical for the 2 of us

is between 2 and 3 dozen eggs a week. Is this too much of a good thing?

Has anyone studied the long term (5-15 years) of heavy egg use?

Gallbladder problems, heart problems, etc.

I really haven't given it much thought up until my medical student big

brother came unglued the other night over our high consumption of

eggs. (I didn't volunteer about the lard and butter) He's just sure

that I will start having heart problems in the next couple of years.

I'd love to point him in the right direction.

But this can't be just any info about egg's nutrition, or about the

suggestion that it won't cause problems. Any studies HAVE to be well

documented medical or scientific studies, or it will mean nothing to

him.

I could use any help out there. I think that he's now got my Mom

concerned about my health as well. It didn't help when he pried from

me my *high* (over 250) cholesterol. His comments were that " I

doubt that you are doing any more damage than if you were eating fast

food every day " I know that there's no arguing with him - after all

he's the one in Med school, not his kid sister. But I'd still love

to prove him wrong, because as he put it " If you're wrong, we'll all

be coming to your funeral " aarrgh

Thanks,

Rhonda
