Oh, it's nice he has such a great caring mom!

FWIW, Asperger's is very much on the rise, as are all the autistic

conditions. But, it might help to know that if that is his issue,

then he is in really good company. Most of the " movers and shakers "

of science and technology have been Aspies. Like Newton, Einstein,

Gates. Women have it to, but they tend to adapt better than

the guys and aren't usually diagnosed. There are a lot of good books

out now about it. Most people who have it have no desire

to be " cured " , but understanding the issues makes life a lot

easier.

I started the GF diet originally because of the Asperger connection.

I had known I had Asperger's, but didn't connect it to diet. After the

diet cured a bunch of other issues I figured it's part of a bigger

problem. The kids who get diagnosed tend to need a GFCF diet

plus digestive enzymes, but so far all the ones I've known have

" normalized " quite nicely. That doesn't mean therapy isn't worth it:

it is, because a lot of being an Aspie is learning how to live in

a world of " neurotypical " folks.

If he is an Aspie (I am, too), there's a great book called _Hitchhiking

Through Asperger Syndrome_ by Lise Pyles. It's very easy to read and

very encouraging.

There's also a program out there called RDI www.rdiconnect.com that you

can do at home to help with relationship issues. I have only begun to

check it out, but it looks really good!
