Guest guest
I liked the cruise SO much better than Disney. Disney has cruises too! My daughter was still a " runner " when we took her on the cruise and it was much much safer than I'd imagined. Pick a family-friendly cruise and make sure the ship itself is family friendly, not just the cruise line- the activities for kids are AMAZING and they will have great programs for kids so you can have some grown-up time too. I also found some teens who were happy to watch our daughter for 2-3 hours in our room at bedtime while we went out to a nice dinner or a bar or whatever. Their night was just beginning when we were coming in (they didn't have to get up with Miss Sunshine at 6:00 AM- lol) so they didn't feel like they were missing out on anything, and they loved having the extra money for the cruise. The family-oriented cruise ships give out pagers to parents to use on board for your entire trip so if you leave your child(ren) in their programs they can reach you if necessary. I also loved paying for almost everything up front, then putting money into our ship account and never having to carry cash anywhere on the ship. It was great, and super-relaxing with children if you are on the right ship. Karin In a message dated 3/20/2008 12:37:50 A.M. Of course, having kids put a stop to that, but hopefully before many more years hubby & I can take some quickly vacations to the beach & do it again! Have any of you taken your kids on cruises? I told the girls the other day that when I graduate from nursing school I want to take us all on a vacation to celebrate. We're torn between Disneyworld and a Disney cruise. I think I would enjoy a cruise more, but I worry about Allie deciding to walk the rail of the ship or something, lol. Debi **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros.
